[HD] GWR 4965 'Rood Ashton Hall' on the Red Dragon 07/03/2015

Vintage train's Red Dragon tour was to run from Tyseley to Cardiff and return hauled by GWR Hall 4965 'Rood Ashton Hall'. My original plans had been to see her arrive and depart Worcester before heading to Cheltenham Spa, then going to Newport and then finally seeing her at Cardiff. Then on the way back the plan was to see her at Newport where she was booked to stop for half an hour. Due to a cancelled train early in the morning at Bristol Temple Meads that plan was quickly scrapped and suddenly first port of call was to be Cheltenham Spa going there via Newport. We arrived in Cheltenham in time to see a Network Rail test train before 4965 rounded the corner, disappointingly coasting, only opening up once she's passed the camera. We then took a train to Bristol Parkway where we changed for Newport once again. There 4965 gave a good performance and left a smoke screen and a lovely smell hanging around the station. Another part of our plan was quickly thrown out of the window as we decided against seeing Tangmere at North Somerset Junc and therefore stayed to see 4965's turning proceedures. Once finished there we headed to Severn Tunnel Junction where the real fun began. We had freights galore (all of which will be processed and uploaded in another video) and then came the news we didn't want to hear, there was a report of a trespass incident between us and Llanwern and we thought that would be it but no, the problem was cleared up and after 70004 passed through with a coal train 4965 rounded the curve under the M4 and gave up a lesson in time keeping, having left Llanwern 10 minutes late she had made up 5 minutes by the time she passed us and it could really be seen in her performance!
