Turning My Python RPG Prototype Into a Real Game Engine | Devlog #2 | shorts preview

Day 2 of building a cozy RPG from scratch using Python and Pygame.

Yesterday the project was a single messy prototype file. Today I restructured the entire project into a proper engine architecture and added several major systems.

New systems added today:
• Modular project architecture
• Isometric terrain rendering
• Smooth entity movement
• Improved procedural terrain generation
• Global water level system
• NPC wandering with pathfinding
• Hover tile detection and click-to-move
• HUD information panel
• Map rotation system
• Faster terrain generation using NumPy

The goal of this project is to build a cozy RPG world with exploration, villages, and NPCs that feel alive.

Try the current prototype here:

If you have suggestions for systems or features you'd like to see next, let me know in the comments.
