Replacing the impellor to fix E02 on a Lay Z Spa Hydrojet pump unit.

E02 can be caused by a faulty flow sensor, or the pump not pumping. This video looks at fixing a failed pump (or actually a failed impeller).

Some diagnosis steps :
1) When you switch on the recirculating pump, you hear an initial whirring noise from the pump, and can feel the flow of water, but then you receive error E02. This is most likely a flow sensor error.

2) No noise when you switch on the recirculating pump from the dashboard. But you hear a clicking sound from the pump unit before the error E02. This indicates the control unit is working, as the click is most likely the relay switching to power the pump. In this case, then it is most likely a fault pump, and the normal cause is a failed impeller. This video covers this fix. Often the pump will have been noticabley noisier before the E02 failure.

3) No noise when you switch on the recirculating pump from the dashboard, and no click from the pump unit. This indicates the control unit is likely failed, as the unit is not energising the relay to turn on the pump.

Repairs to the pump unit should be attempted only by competent electricans. Opening the pump unit will expose mains electricity and of course electricity can kill. Water and electricity do not mix; do not put youself or others at risk.
