Uttarakhand Cloudburst: Dehradun Flooded, Bridge Swept Away, Two Missing In Deluge | India Today

Very heavy rainfall and a cloudburst have triggered flash floods and landslides in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Strong water currents in the Shastradhara area have destroyed houses, washed away vehicles and shops, and led to the collapse of a bridge near the Haridwar National Highway. The Song river is in full spate, and a temple near the Tamsa river has been submerged. According to the transcript, a speaker noted, "this road, about 60 to 70 meters, is slowly getting cut towards us and is being washed away." Two people are reportedly missing, while large-scale rescue operations involving the SDRF, NDRF, and PWD teams have rescued over 100 people so far. The district administration has put all government departments on high alert as relief and rescue efforts continue.
