The World’s Fare returned to Queens for the second successive year
The World’s Fare returned to Queens for the second successive year on May 18th to 19th , with over 10,000 visitors graced the Citi Field venue.
The event, which taps into the spirt of the World’s Fair festival of 1964, aimed to celebrate the diversity of Queens by offering attendees a broad range of international cuisine, drink, music and dance.
A team of leading culinary experts curated the event, which included more than 100 food vendors. General admission tickets were $23 for adults and $9 for children. $49 if you want to have a souvenir mug and enjoy 3 hours unlimited tasting at the international beer garden that served over 50 beers from around the globe. Each vendor charged separately for the food, drink or other items. Several bars at the festival also provided international cocktails over the course of the weekend.
The World’s Fare was not simply limited to food and drink. A shopping pavilion where attendees can buy clothes, jewels and art from around the world was also set up. Attendees got together for Celebration of international dance and music embracing many different cultures and age groups, including traditional Asian dance, the Northern Lion Dance, and Black Tie Brass, a local horn-driven jazz band.
The festival ran from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in the parking lot of the iconic Citi Field, home of the New York Mets and is centrally located in New York City, near the 7 line and the Long Island Rail Road’s Mets-Willets Point station.
