Sapphire Tourbillion Skeleton Watch Under $10k?? - Aventi A11Review

I’m Watch Eric and in this video we are going to go over the Aventi A11. I would like to say that Aventi approached me quite some time ago. Ryan their representative happened to be here in Miami during the Super Bowl and brought me there titanium prototypes. Initially when I saw the watches in person I though that this was not my cup of tea. It’s something that I would usually shy away from because it’s just not my thing. They say that it’s a super car on the wrist and I find that a bit ambitious, but it is admirable. Throughout this whole time Ryan has been updating me about their whole process up until they finally launched the watches. It was not until I saw that they made a sapphire crystal case version that it really got my attention considering that sapphire crystal case watches are usually in the realm of Richard Mille. The fact that they would actually make one in sapphire was pretty ballsy. That being said I have them here and I would like to go over them together.

Design
First thing about the Aventi A11 is the design. Many people have said that it's a copy of a Richard Mille, but I disagree considering that their are watches out there like the Spirit of Big Bang that look much more directly similar to a RM. I would say that it does have some of the essence for example the Skeleton dial and the fact it’s not round, but I would not go as far as saying it’s a Richard Mille homage. There are several design cues that are pulled from a Lamborghini. When you see it in their ads next to the cars you can tell that is has a Lamborghini flare. The size of the case is a little bit too large for my wrist because I have a 7.25” wrist, but I can see how it can fit well on others. There is still a very large market for large watches. The A11 is big and bold and there to make a statement.

Movement
It’s a Hong Kong Tourbillion movement, hand wound, double barrel, with a 72 hour power reserve and is very nicely finished considering the price. Aventi is very transparent about the fact that it is not a Swiss made movement. To include the features of a skeleton dial and tourbillion at a price point like this one the use of an Asian movement is a must have. These are prototypes and the final versions will have polished screws instead of the blue screws to give it more of a uniform look. There is something about a tourbillion spinning that always gets my attention.

Sapphire Crystal Case
The one thing that grabs my attention the most on this watch is the case. Sapphire is very hard to work with and when I think of Sapphire case I think of the first watch that really made this a big deal. The Richard Mille RM56. After that several companies followed and by now I would say that it’s only natural that a brand would finally bring an obtainable sapphire crystal case option. The clear sapphire case A11 has a very nice polish and finish. When looking at the blue sapphire case I notice that it’s finished slightly better because it appears sharper. Blue sapphire is something that is only being done at this moment by two brands and thats Richard Mille and Hublot and the prices are at a very high premium. The price of the blue case doubles that of the clear. The fact that they went this far and made them in sapphire is what got my attention.

Strap
The strap is made of silicone and has a good feel. The straps on these prototypes are actually pretty long. They stated to me that the final versions will have a shorter strap as the prototypes came out a bit too long. Other that that it would be cool to see the tang an buckle sapphire as well.

Price
The titanium version of the Aventi A11 has a retail price of about $2,000
For the clear sapphire crystal case A11 the retail price is $5,000
And for the blue sapphire crystal case A11 the retail price is $9,800

Conclusion
This is an unbiased review of the Aventi A11. I would say that for it being there first model and going all the way with a Sapphire crystal was pretty impressive and caught my attention. I am also going to say that if this watch was 15%-20% smaller in case size it would fit my wrist a lot better. It would be interesting to see what the next models could bring.
