How Jaylen Brown defeated all odds

Jaylen Brown has gone through of ups and downs already for a 23 year old rising star in the NBA for the Boston Celtics. He has defeated all odds and many doubters so far and is only getting started. Jaylen grew up in Marietta, Georgia, considered one of the most dangerous and unsafe cities IN THE WORLD! The chance of becoming a victim of either violence or property crime in Marietta is 1 in 28 and the area has a crime rate that is higher than 77% of the state's cities and towns of all sizes.

Berkeley's Coach Martin knew that Jaylen Brown was special: "Sports is his stage to do what he needs to do to maintain his voice. I think when it's all said and done, he will impact the world in other ways." Martin acknowledged that Brown had various interests, not just basketball. Brown has especially been vocal about the racial injustice that plagues the country in wake of the death of George Floyd. He drove 15 FULL HOURS to his hometown of Atlanta to lead peaceful protests and speak to protestors as a social leader promoting change. Brown said: "Being a celebrity, being an NBA player, don't exclude me from no conversations at all. First and foremost, I'm a black man and I'm a member of this community. We're raising awareness for some of the injustices we have been seeing. It's not ok."
