BBC World Service, Jan 16, 2011, English Transmission

This is an excerpt of the 3-4 GMT Broadcast of the BBC World Service of their show, "The World Today" on Jan 16, 2011. A busy news day. I think it's "supposed" to be at 7445 Khz and it's beamed to Southern Africa, but the dial seems a little off in this instance but the dial seems accurate for other stations so I'm not exactly sure of what frequency transmission it is. It definately is the BBC World Service though. The BBC discontinued service to North America many years ago due to cost cutting measures and said "North Americans can use streaming audio, thank you."
News items include. Baby Doc's return to Haiti, The Tunisia revolt, will the Yuan replace the US dollar as World Reserve Currency. World wide inflation caused by the US printing dollars to stimulate the US economy.
PS.. I just learned the BBC is cutting 650 jobs from the BBC World Service. There is a youtube video on this. So much for broadcasting western ideals and democratic ideas to the "unwashed masses". Pretty stupid move for the BBC in my opinion.
