How to Make a Wooden Desktop Sign using Walnut Plywood, Glitter Acrylic and a GlowForge Basic

No Place Like Home Sign
In this video, I make a 'No Place Like Home' desktop sign inspired by the Wizard of Oz. The final physical product can be viewed at: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1024863419/theres-no-place-like-home-desktop-sign.

The back and base are made of 1/4" walnut plywood and the letters are glitter acrylic. I use masking to help prevent charring on the wood and tried a dish soap method to coat the acrylic which also prevented a dull finish. On the back of the acrylic, I use a 3M double-sided adhesive which let me stick the letters onto the sign without dealing with glue.

The bottom base slot is 7.85" x .2097" and the sign is between .21" and .23" in depth. Depending on how tight I use the calipers. The width of the sign is 7.85. Somehow this works for me so the sign slips into the base.
