Death penalty vs life sentence: Two ageing criminals who call prison their forever home | 60 Minutes

In 2000, 60 Minutes was granted unprecedented access to Len Lawson and Bill Macdonald, two men who have committed crimes so horrific, they were never released from prison as punishment for the lives they took. Both criminals have since died - Lawson in 2003 and Macdonald in 2015. But before then, 60 Minutes visited them in prison - frail and ageing - in a rare opportunity to see inside the minds of the men responsible for mass murder and serial killing, and delve into the issues of crime, punishment and the death penalty.
