"Tectonic Social Distancing Along the Denali Fault," by Sean Regan — Science for Alaska 2021
UAF Geophysical Institute Assistant Professor Sean Regan presented the talk, "Tectonic Social Distancing Along the Denali Fault" on February 23, 2021, as part of the Science for Alaska Lecture Series.
Join GI geologist Sean Regan as he guides a journey back millions of years to uncover the geologic history of the iconic Alaska Range. Learn how the dynamic Denali Fault creates this mountainous terrain and causes earthquakes whenever enough pressure builds up between the plates, such as in the earth-shattering magnitude 7.9 quake of 2002.
