I don't know what's driving this video's sudden popularity. Almost all my subscriptions are because of this video. The retention dips where I lose a viewer is at the Palmolive Dishwashing soap bottle and the New York Central System locomotives, but that's what drove me to make the video. My life is a bad soap opera. I had a girlfriend named Laura, I wanted to marry her and take her on the train to New York. The video is romanticized. The audience is actually older and largely Brazilian. Mathis is African-American/Native-American. You seldom hear this song on the radio in the U.S. anymore.
