It is unusual for a brand to launch a new diesel engine in 2025, but that's exactly what has happened here, and it's exactly what the GWM Tank 300 needed.

The new 2.4-litre turbo diesel four cylinder has a punchy amount of power and torque, and comes with a nine-speed automatic gearbox as standard. There's also a switch from on-demand to selectable 4x4, and that means serious off cred and heaps of excellent go-anywhere tech, too.

In this review I'll tell you what's good about it, what could be better, the pricing and specs, fuel use, ownership and more.
