Tour du Manaslu 2013

A fantastic trek around the 8th highest peak in the world! This trek was organized for 12 STMicrolectronics employees, a company based near Grenoble, France. Our supporting crew of more than 20 sherpas, cooks and porters really worked hard for us.

We had unusual weather conditions at Larke Pass (5106m, the highest point of our trek), with 40 cm of snow, which is very rare at this time of year. So it was a lot more challenging than we had anticipated.

This circuit is very genuine as there are not many lodges and tourism is not so developed yet as it is in the nearby valleys. We slept under tents which felt more adventurous...
