Replacing MGB Engine and Gearbox Mounts
This MGB was unable to shift into 3rd and 4th gear. As it turns out, the rubber mounts that support the engine and gearbox were so worn that the drivetrain was cantered to the right... causing the gear shift to hit the side of the tunnel and effectively blocking off 2 gears! If you've done engine mounts in, say, a Triumph TR... you could be forgiven for thinking it'll be an easy task in an MGB. While it's certainly doable for the average do-it-yourselfer (I'm no professional, I just have a camera), and with no need for special tools, do plan for extra time--especially for the left side mount!
