Asafoetida used as a spice throughout the country…But, do you know that it is not cultivated in India and imported entirely from countries like Iran and Afghanistan? Well, this situation might change soon, as CSIR’s Palampur based Institute of Himalayan Bio-resource Technology has recently started the cultivation of Asafoetidain Lahaul valley of Himachal Pradesh.
