His many fans turned out in force to cheer The Brooksie Bomber toward the finishing line. Chief noisemaker, Megan Brookes, reportedly lost her voice due to excessive zealousness in the cheerleading department. Wife and mother of two, Nicola Brookes, 24, said "today has to be one of the proudest days of my life - only coming a close second to the day when Ian finally cleared out the guttering, whoop whoop!"
Abby Brookes, the brains of the outfit, was so inspired by her heroic Dad's sterling efforts that she promised every single person within earshot that, when 18 years of age, she would do like Pa and "run the Marathon!"
