CEO pushes for boycott of Chinese products
Kennard’s Self Storage CEO Sam Kennard is pushing for a boycott of Chinese products following the trade sanctions imposed as a response to Australia's call for an inquiry into China's handling of COVID-19.
Mr Kennard told Sky News he does not wish to engage in trade with a country which seeks to harm Australia.
"So I thought, why don't we explore other suppliers, other countries that we can get products from," he said.
"We're just going to say, what do padlocks from Taiwan look like, or Vietnam, or you know, Singapore or Malaysia...what are the options there, because we've never really examined that."
On Tuesday he put out a call on social media for other Australian businesses to follow his company's lead.
"On Twitter and LinkedIn the flood of support has been incredible," he said.
