Karl scores again & Kane saves late point | FC Bayern 2-2 Mainz 05 | Highlights Bundesliga

Points shared in last home game of 2025: Despite clearly dominating the game, FC Bayern could not manage more than a 2-2 (1-1) draw against bottom-of-the-table 1. FSV Mainz 05 on Sunday evening. However, thanks to the defeat of closest rivals RB Leipzig at the start of the matchday, Munich now have a nine-point lead over the second-placed team in the Bundesliga.

Bayern took control of the game from the start and took a deserved lead through Lennart Karl (29th minute). Despite further clear chances, the home side were unable to add to their tally before the break, and the visitors surprisingly equalized through Kacper Potulski (45+2). After the break, Jae-Sung Lee (67th minute) turned the game completely on its head with a 2-1 lead for the Rheinhessen side. Bayern continued to push forward and at least managed to equalize when Harry Kane (87th minute) scored from the penalty spot shortly before the end.
