Crude oil reservoir in Eastern Slovakia

At the Slovak-Ukrainian border at the pumping station PS1 Budkovce is located the Oil Measuring Station (MSR) with 8 Oil tanks, every one with capacity 50 000 m3. MSR measures the amount of oil taken over from the Russian transport company PAO TRANSNEFT with the participation of the Ukrainian transport company AT UKRTRANSNAFTA.

The DRUŽBA international oil pipeline is one of the world's longest oil pipelines (5,000 km), starting in central Russia's Almatyevsk (Samara region – the city of Samara), where oil is harvested from Kazakhstan, the Caucasus and western Siberia. The pipeline then heads towards Russia's western border, where it is divided in the city of Uneča. It is divided into a branch continuing along the territory of Belarus through Polovo and the Baltics to the ports of Lithuania and Latvia and a branch of the SATELLITE further to Mozyr, Belarus. Here, THE DRUŽBA is divided into a northern branch pointing to Poland and a southern branch, which continues through Brody to the Ukrainian village of Grand Geyevce, where it is divided into a branch pointing to Slovakia and the Czech Republic and a branch to Hungary.
