Claire McCarthy, PT, MS, DPT (Hon) joins Mark Rockoff, MD to discuss her experience as a physical therapist at Boston Children's Hospital during the Polio epidemic of 1955.

When she began working at Boston Children's Hospital in 1953, Claire was a recent phyicial therapy graduate she was not aware of the flood of Polio patients that would arrive two years later. With more than two thousand children in Massachusetts aquiring the deadly disease in 1955, Claire shares her experience as a healthcare worker during a viral epidemic.
