Trans Siberian / Trans Mongolian Railroad: Winter 2016

I loved every moment. We took the Trans-Siberian/Trans-Mongolian from Moscow to Beijing in the dead of winter for six days straight. No wifi, no technology. Just 7,621 km (4,735 miles) of snow, birches, huddled wooden houses, steaming samovars, rickety dining cars, frozen lakes, and the hypnotic sound of the rumbling train tracks. It was the experience of a lifetime.

For more information, we found this site extremely helpful: https://www.seat61.com/Trans-Siberian.htm

For purchase, we used this (but you could do it more cheaply if you broke up your trip or bought at the station, for which you might need to be able to speak Russian): https://trains.realrussia.co.uk/transsib/

AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, WE ARE NOT DEPRESSED. I think people are used to the annoying perky-pants types that usually upload videos from travel experiences. We had the time of our lives. It was simply more meditative of the beauty around us than screaming with joy.
