Have you ever had to handle a challenging situation with pests or insects while flying in a flight?

If you find a live insect onboard an aircraft, follow these steps based on aviation safety and hygiene protocols:

1. Identify the Insect Type

If it’s a harmless insect (e.g., a fly or mosquito), you can try to catch and dispose of it.

If it’s a potentially harmful insect (e.g., wasp, bee, or cockroach), avoid provoking it and inform the cabin crew immediately.
2. Notify the Crew

Flight attendants are trained to handle such situations and may use insect spray or other approved methods to remove the insect.
3. Ensure Passenger Safety

If the insect is stinging (e.g., bee or wasp), inform passengers nearby to stay calm and avoid sudden movements.

If it’s a cockroach or another pest, it could indicate a hygiene issue, so it should be reported for further inspection.
4. Prevent the Spread

Keep food covered, especially during meal service.

Avoid crushing insects that could spread germs.
5. Post-Flight Actions

The airline should report the incident to ground staff for pest control and aircraft disinfection.

If the insect poses a quarantine risk (e.g., agricultural pests), authorities may need to be notified.
In your experience working at Jet Airways, did you ever encounter such situations?
