Tesla Giga Berlin's 2nd Roof and New Service Provider

At Tesla Giga Berlin we are witnessing the covering of the second roof on the top of the Body in White (BIW) building. It was only a week or so ago that Torque News reported the first roof being installed at Giga Berlin, and now we are seeing the second roof.

Jurgen is reporting that there is a new service provider at Tesla Giga Berlin. The PGMM planning group takes over the planning of the technical building equipment for almost all trades.

On its website (see the reference below) PGMM has the following message.

"TESLA is creating the most advanced series production area for electric vehicles on the approximately 300-hectare property. It is planned to build the Model Y series with an initial number of 150,000 units per year from the summer 2021.

"The shell work for the Gigafactory is already well advanced and the planning of the technical building equipment is in full swing. This is almost exclusively created for all trades by the M + M AG planning group. The planning for the body shop, assembly hall, press shop, energy center, auxiliary building, etc. are created collision-free and passed on to the plant construction department. Technically and organizationally, this is a major challenge due to the tight schedule, which we at PGMM are happy to face."

Jurgen also says In the Drive Unit ( DU ) the east wall is further completed and the roof covering is progressing rapidly. This is very important to do now because the rainy season is going to start soon in Germany.

Jurgen also caught a train entering the forest to Giga Berlin and bringing piles and supplies for the Max Boegl Group, which is building Tesla's first European Gigafactory to manufacture electric cars, starting from the Model Y electric crossover in the summer of 2021.
