Japanese Whisky is surely one of the most exciting categories in spirits as we approach the hundredth anniversary of its oldest distillery, Suntory’s much-loved Yamazaki just outside Kyoto. Demand has flown through the roof for the increasingly rare and sought-after whiskies of an industry that has seen huge fluctuation over its ten decades that has led to a unique style of whisky that places as much value on blending as distillation and caters for a palate that is significantly different from the traditional whisky drinkers of Scotland and Kentucky.
