What Happens To This Ball UNDERWATER?

Today we’re testing another pressure object when scuba diving!

I found this red (orange?) ball in our dive box at the shop and was interested to see how much pressure affected it and it’s safe to say it didn’t hold up well under pressure!

As you descent, air compresses and as you ascend, air expands. This means if the air content of the object is not changed at depth, it will regain that original shape on most occasions. This is the same thing happening to your body’s air spaces which is why we need to equalise and never hold our breath (more on this soon! ☺️)
