How to use DIFFUSION FILTERS - Tiffen Black Pro Mist vs Black Satin cinematic filters

Learn how to get the film look using DIFFUSION FILTERS like the Tiffen Black Pro Mist and Tiffen Black Satin. If you’re looking to give your shots more of an organic, cinematic film look, maybe you’ve considered shooting with diffusion filters. Today I’m doing a comparison between two of the more popular diffusion filters, Tiffen Black Satin and Tiffen Black Pro Mist using the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K and a variety of lenses.

In this lens filter comparison video I break down why you should use a diffusion filter. I shot all of the BMPCC 4K Test Footage and Tiffen Black Pro Mist and Tiffen Black Satin lens filters ranging from strengths of 1/8 through 1 so that I could provide you with a wide range of samples to see how diffusion filters effect your footage.

The lenses used in this BMPCC 4K test footage were the Sigma 50-100, Sigma 18-35, Sirui 50mm Anamorphic and the vintage lens Helios-44 58mm.
