Late Cretaceous marine currents flowing the “wrong” way and Ophiomorpha myth-busting in Wyoming!

Most people blast by these outcrops on I-80 without a second thought. BUT there are some cool stories to be told about life in the Late Cretaceous about 72 million years ago! For starters, all the paleocurrents are going to the northwest. That’s the total OPPOSITE of what 99% of researchers think about circulation in the Western Interior Sea. Hmmmm…could be strong TIDAL currents. THEN there’s the Ophiomorpha traces made by ghost shrimp.
