Ardern ‘threw a tantrum’ because Australia doesn’t want NZ’s ‘bad apples’

Sky News host Peter Gleeson says New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern “lost her manners” during a recent visit to Australia.

Ms Ardern took a public swipe at Prime Minister Scott Morrison at the weekend, demanding Australia stop deporting its people and problems to New Zealand.

Under Australia's deportation policy, anyone who has committed a serious criminal offence can be deported to their country of origin.

About 2,000 New Zealanders have been deported under the policy to date.

Ms Ardern argued against the policy, saying some of those who are deported only have tenuous links to New Zealand as they have lived their whole lives in Australia.

Mr Gleeson said the government was well within its rights to deport "no hopers" because the last thing Australia needs is “bad apples” from New Zealand.
