There is a real 'battle happening' in Europe right now
Sky News host Andrew Bolt says there is a real battle happening right now in Europe and it is one most of the media is trying not to acknowledge.
Overnight a terror attack took place in Vienna, Austria, leaving a number of people dead.
Mr Bolt said it was "an attack just days after last Friday's Islamist attack on a church in Nice in France, where three Christians were killed".
Discussing the latest killings in Vienna, Mr Bolt said we don't know who the gunman were however "the Austrian government has said they're Islamic but not given their identity".
"I have to say that of all the ritual condemnation of this attack, foreign leaders saying 'we oppose terrorism' ... they never tell you exactly that they oppose the ideology that's driving some of these people," Mr Bolt said.
Mr Bolt said the sympathy given by one of those leaders has "stuck in my throat".
He referenced a recent tweet by Turkish Presidential Spokeperson İbrahim Kalın which stated "We strongly condemn the terrorist attack in Vienna" and "We stand in solidarity with Austria".
"But you have to remember, Turkey's President Erdogan is meanwhile encouraging Islamist extremists," Mr Bolt said.
"He is a Muslim handliner, an authoritarian who has claimed that Europe is picking on Muslims and has virtually incited people to revenge," he said.
