C64 Turbo Charge - Longplay (Part 3 of 3)

I was surprised to discover that nobody had done a long-play for this fantastic System 3 game so I thought I'd be the first to upload one.

I practiced this game many times and managed to complete it without crashing or using continues. The game does get extremely difficult by level 4 and level 5 is almost impossible because every car is hostile and the roads are littered with hazards.

The basic plot is that a group of Iraqi terrorists have broken into a UN base, stolen missiles and threatened to nuke various American cities. You take control of special agents Agrippa and Dausus (who drive a Lamborghini Countach sports car!) and head out to annihilate the terrorists over 5 levels.

Turbo Charge stays true to System 3's reputation of producing quality games with addictive game-play. Each of the 5 levels are split into 2 parts - the first part involves you smashing through the border to get into hostile territory while the second part involves you catching up with the vehicle of the leader and damaging his car sufficiently for him to finally stop.

Your agents are equipped with a pistol (unlimited ammo) as well as a rocket launcher which is good for 5 shots in each level. Your car has only a limited amount of fuel and can take only limited damage before blowing up. In addition, you only have 2 minutes to complete each section. If you run out of fuel, reach %100 damage or run out of time, the game is over. Fortunately there are fuel cans scattered throughout the levels which will give you a quick fuel top-up. Your damage is reset to zero after you complete each level.

Turbo Charge is truly an excellent game. The soundtrack across the 5 levels is awesome and the smooth-scrolling scenery is excellent for a C64 game.
