Clerget 9B OilPump Assembly & Reduction Gear box
Showing the major assembly steps and operation of the engine driven Oil pump. Driven by the engine’s main gear, the Oil pump rotates at 1 ¾ of the engine speed.
The reduction Gear box , attached to the Oil pump, drives the RMP indicator. To limit the wear of the flex cable connected to the RPM indicator, the gear box further reduces the speed to 1/4th of the engine speed.
