Yasiel Puig's Spectacular Rookie Season was Unsustainable | Stat Stories

Yasiel Puig was a big reason why the Los Angeles Dodgers went from worst to first in the NL west in 2013. His style of play caught the attention of many, and he put up some pretty incredible numbers. But was his rookie season just a fluke?
In this video, I show how Yasiel Puig put up unsustainable numbers in his first two seasons. Batting average on balls in play (BABIP) is the main culprit here, as Puig got hits at a rate that guys like Ichiro couldn't even sustain. I also show how Puig is still a valuable hitter, even if his performance since 2014 seems like a disappointment.
