Camel Caravan from Afar

In the Afar Region of northern Ethiopia, hundreds of camels (all males) laden with salt from the nearby mines set out at dusk — along with their handlers, to cross the open desert. The animals and the men will trek through the night while temperatures are cooler. An endless journey for this desert caravan. The camel train. Ship of the desert.
