AUTO FANATICA | Renault Trafic | REVIEW 2019 | (2013) | Better but no good enough

The Renault trafic new shape is a great improvement but still manages to fall short. It suffers from many of the same issues as the older model, lack of spec, engine problems and bad design in some areas.

I'm disappointed that so many companies are using this design and all could have contributed their strengths in design to create one of the best vans on the market but instead the result is a minor improvement but still has so many of the faults of the previous model.

One of the major problems that has still not been resolved is the engine failure rates. This new 1.6 Bi turbo diesel is just as likely to fail as previous engine options. This van seems to be a ticking time bomb waiting to happen and the risk increases exponentially the further past 100k miles you get.

Pros: improved drivers seat, better handling, economy and performance over previous model

Cons: poor quality interior materials, low spec, engine failures common after 90k miles
