Making recycled plastic as good as new

Only about a third all the plastic produced annually is actually recycled. The rest is either incinerated or becomes landfill, or worse still, gets tossed into our environment to find it's way into our oceans. Now, a new breakthrough technology is enabling scientists to extract difficult to reach plastics from mixed materials and return them to their pristine, 'good as new' state.
