'In Haryana, Corruption Has Taken A New Form & Crime Is At An All-Time High'

For the last six-seven years, psephologist-turned-politician Yogendra Yadav has closely followed the politics of Haryana. First as a leader of Aam Aadmi Party and on leaving it as founder and national president of Swaraj India he has campaigned extensively in the state. On his return following a nine-day Jan Sarokar Abhiyan, which covered 13 of the 22 districts of the state, he spoke to Gaurav Vivek Bhatnagar of The Wire about how farmer distress, unemployment, crime against women, economic slowdown and indebtedness of the state have only increased during the rule of first BJP government under Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. And yet a disheartened and fractured opposition are the biggest reasons why BJP is hopeful of staging a comeback.
