Color Temperature for Painting - Color Theory for Painters, Episode 6

This video is all about color temperature. Temperature refers to the warmness or coolness of a color. This lesson is broken into 3 sections: (1) Basic concepts of color temperature. (2) Color mixing demonstration so you can learn how to bend any color to be warmer or cooler. (3) An experiment with different temperature of lightbulbs so you can see how the temperature of a light source affects objects and shadows. Stay for the bonus at the end where my four-legged studio assistant "Watson" shows off his knowledge of warm and cool.

This is the sixth video in an educational series about Color Theory. These mini-lessons are meant for those just beginning their art journey. I used to teach art in an elementary school, and while these videos are geared for adults, I still believe in teaching art using everyday English. I will explain art terms as we go. We will build your knowledge of color bit by bit until we reach the end goal--to be able to use color effectively in your own paintings.
