Climbing: Hotel California (22) ⭐⭐⭐ @ Blue Mountains

Come for a ride as Syl & Finchy climb the classic Blueys multipitch: "Hotel Cali". Normally a 325m ten pitch sport climb. We topped out on pitch 8 just two minutes before last light (although the lighting on the GoPro footage shows much more light), so we skipped the last two pitches (a 20m walk through the bushes, and a 20m grade 16 climb) and just walked around the side to the next gully and hiked out. Pitch 1 (22) was awesome technical climbing on mostly thin holds, pitch 2 (20) still thin and a little precarious but eases off a bit, pitch 5 (17) was simply stunning starting on the arete then up the main face on some delicious moves, pitch 6 (19) (the money pitch) an epic and run out traverse into big exposure towards the end, pitch 7 (20) was pretty thin and a committing little rooflet to negotiate, pitch 8 (18) big holds and fun climbing on the home stretch with stunning views and massive height above the valley below! During the last two pitches the wind picked right up and we had light rain come and go (off camera the trailing rope was blowing 90° horizontally around the arete), the ominous black clouds brewing behind us kept our pace up though fortunately we didn't get hit by storm. So much fun and incredible day out! :)
