Some of us attempt to make the lordship of Jesus Christ all about what WE CAN DO for Him, but Jesus tells us that apart from Him we can do nothing (see John 15:5). Submitting to His lordship is a good desire to have, but it’s not something we can do alone. Before we can let Him be lord, we must recognize how desperately we really need saving, and we must accept how great His gift of salvation truly is.
