Beast and the Harlot - Avenged Sevenfold

Great song, one of my favorites from GH2, but unfortunately this was among one of the most frustrating 1st places to get in the game.

The first activation isn't too bad, but the 2nd is absolutely dreadful. The extended sustains in the solo are bad enough because they hardly give you any extra points and all are immediately followed up by another extended sustain. I didn't even bother with some because I ended up dropping the ends because I would have to let go of the bottom note before I was done getting ticks on the previous notes sometimes. However, the phrase at 2:07 is entirely extended sustains, and they give you enough extra SP to get another 2 or 3 notes under SP in the solo, so they are absolutely crucial. I have gotten one more note under SP a few times before, but it required absolutely stellar glitching.

Besides the extra SP gain, of course there's the extra points you get from glitching them that are important. I did very careful calculations to determine precisely how many points I needed coming out of the solo to still be able to get 1st place, and I was able to skip some of the extended sustains and still come out on top. I can't stress to you how annoying the solo is this song is when going for 1st place.

The 3rd activation isn't too hard, it's an easy double squeeze. The 4th activation, however, is a much harder double squeeze. I missed that squeeze so many fucking times with great points, this was by far the worst run I had going into that activation. I just had a feeling that I would hit it this run because I was down like 300-400 from my best score, but still high enough to get 1st lol.

Overall, I'm not exactly happy with this score, but it's 1st place, so I can't complain too much.
