Union Pacific 844 2017 Break-In Run Part 1

In April of 2017, the UP Steam Crew took to the rails with the Union Pacific 844 on a brief shakedown run between Cheyenne and Greeley to ensure the locomotive was ready for the 2017 excursion season. Many things needed to be run in and worked on, such as new valve rings and rod bearings. In this video, we watch as the train is brought a few car lengths into the shop to clear the East shop leads for the Shop switcher. After everything was staged and put in correctly, the crew backs Eastbound, then highballs West and South down the UP Greeley Sub. Several stops were made during this run, which made for an easy chase. Our locations include Crow Creek, Terry Ranch, Carr, then Southbound from Nunn.
