NA MOONEYS - SRUTHÁIN - EARAGAIL ARTS FESTIVAL 2020

Spanning three generations, Na Mooneys is an Irish traditional music group from the heart of the West Donegal Gaeltacht, featuring Mairéad Ní Mhaonaigh (Altan), Gearóid Ó Maonaigh, Anna Ní Mhaonaigh, Ciarán Ó Maonaigh, Caitlín Nic Gabhann, Nia Byrne with guest musician Manus Lunny.

While we wait until next year to welcome you in person to A Week with Na Mooneys, for the meantime the group will give you a little flavour of what’s in store by presenting a newly composed and recorded song and an accompanying piece of dance music.

From composition to recording, the group will introduce you to the poem and rhyme, the music ideas, the dance setting, the tune, the harmony, the chords and the discussion and discord from which this creativity comes, whilst also showcasing the landscape of their native Gaoth Dobhair and The Rosses.
