According to reports, transport employees are demanding a salary hike of 25%, while the government has proposed a 12.5% increase. The workers’ unions have rejected the proposal, calling it insufficient and unfair.The joint action committee of transport employees has warned that if their demands are not met, buses across Karnataka could be halted indefinitely. This includes both KSRTC and BMTC services, which are lifelines for daily commuters in the state.The unions are also demanding clearance of 38 months of pending salary arrears, adding further pressure on the state government. Officials say negotiations are still ongoing, but tensions remain high.
