On March 16, 1992 Mariah Carey filmed a stripped back concert performance for MTV Unplugged in promotion of her second album ‘Emotions’. The concert was also a way for Mariah to quiet the critics who deemed her a possible studio artist due to her lack of live performances and touring up until that point. The performance was a huge success eventually being released as a live EP along with an accompanying VHS tape. Mariah opened the show with a performance of her 5th number single, the album title track, ‘Emotions’.
