"Human" é uma canção gravada pelo grupo de synthpop britânico ‘The Human League’, e lançada como o primeiro single de seu álbum de 1986 “Crash”. A canção foi escrita e produzida por Jimmy Jam e Terry Lewis. A música liderou as paradas dos Estados Unidos, tornando-se o segundo single da banda a liderar o Billboard Hot 100 após o single de 1981 "Don't You Want Me". Ela também foi o número 1 no Canadá, alcançando o número 5 na Alemanha e o número 8 no país natal da banda, o Reino Unido.
A letra da canção trata do assunto da infidelidade humana, em que um homem e uma mulher após a separação se reúnem para uma troca de confissões no relacionamento. "Human" is a song recorded by British synthpop group ‘The Human League’, and released as the first single from their 1986 album "Crash". The song was written and produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. The song topped the US charts, becoming the band's second single to lead the Billboard Hot 100 following the 1981 single "Don't You Want Me." It was also number 1 in Canada, reaching number 5 in Germany and number 8 in the band's home country, the United Kingdom.
The song's lyrics deal with the subject of human infidelity, in which a man and a woman after separation come together for an exchange of confessions in the relationship. In the first two lines, vocalist Philip Oakey apologizes to his partner for being unfaithful during his absence, and in the collapse of the song, the confession of words spoken by vocal backing Joanne Catherall reveals that she was also unfaithful. The song's title is derived from the chorus, in which both parties in the relationship explain that they are "only human" and "born to make mistakes".
The video clip "Human" (where the shorter version of the song is played) was filmed in London in June 1986 in a studio using the Chroma key effect overlay. It is strongly styled to give a "water reflection" effect, in contrast to the song's theme of the song's "stain of error", and a blue tint throughout. The video was conceived and directed by Andy Morahan.
