🚨Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is getting a timeline overhaul, and it's bigger than just adding characters.
Starting April 29, Han Solo, Leia, and Darth Vader are all appearing at Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland for the first time. And Luke Skywalker returns to Batuu. But the real story is what Imagineering is doing to make that possible.
Here's what's actually changing:
When Galaxy's Edge first opened, the land was locked to a single moment in Star Wars canon: specifically between The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker. Only sequel trilogy characters. No John Williams score inside the land, because that's not what Rey and Kylo Ren would hear on Batuu. It was a bold creative choice that didn’t quite resonate with casual fans.
So Disney is reworking the entire timeline structure of the land into three distinct eras:
The area around Rise of the Resistance stays in the Sequel Trilogy. The marketplace shifts to the New Republic / Mandalorian era: that’s where you’ll find Mando, Grogu, and Ahsoka. And the outpost around the Millennium Falcon and TIE Fighter becomes the Galactic Civil War era, with a brand new story of Darth Vader hunting Luke Skywalker on Batuu.
They're retrofitting shops and the cantina to be era-appropriate. And that iconic John Williams score is finally coming to the land.

But here's the catch: this is Disneyland only. Disney World is not getting Han, Luke, or Leia. At least not yet.
