Can You Take Back a Police Complaint in India? #IndianLaw #CrPC #LegalAwareness

Filed a police complaint.. now want to take it back?

It’s not always in your control.

Under Section 320 CrPC, only certain offences are compoundable.
If the offence is non-compoundable, the case cannot simply be withdrawn- even if both parties agree.

For serious offences,
👉 only the court can decide.

Once a complaint is filed,
it’s no longer just between you and the other person.
