What if one of the most powerful climate actions you could take started on your plate? 🌱🌱
It may seem intimidating. And I’ll be real, my transition to plant-based eating was (and is) a journey. But my life is so much better for it.
In today’s episode, I get personal and share my
imperfect journey into plant-based eating.
The global food system is responsible for roughly one-third of global greenhouse gas emissions, and animal agriculture accounts for a significant share of that impact.
Research has found that producing beef can generate up to 60 kg of greenhouse gases per kilogram of meat, while most plant proteins produce only a fraction of that amount. A shift toward plant-based eating dramatically reduces resource use.
But the benefits of eating more plants don’t stop with the planet.
People who eat diets rich in fruits, vegetables, legumes, whole grains, nuts, and seeds tend to have lower risks of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure.
Plant-based diets support gut health, blood sugar regulation, and long-lasting energy by their nature.
You don’t have to be perfect. You don’t have to go vegan overnight. Every plant-based meal is a vote for cleaner air, healthier ecosystems, and a healthier you.
The same choices that nourishes your body can help protect the only planet we have. 🌱
