£100 Coin Hunt find - #50p #£2 #UK #Olympic50p plus World coins
Daily coin hunting for scarce and unusual 50p or £2 plus world coins
The 2022 King Charles III Memorial coins, released to honor Queen Elizabeth II, are considered rare and highly collectible because they are the first to feature the new official coinage portrait of King Charles III by Martin Jennings, facing to the left.
2022 Memorial Gold Sovereign (Proof Edition):
Mintage: The Royal Mint issued specific, limited quantities of the proof memorial sovereign collection, with 23,160 Full Sovereigns and only 6,480 for the Quarter and Half Sovereigns.
Value: Gold Proof Sovereigns are sold by dealers for upwards of £680–£990+ depending on the exact set and grade.
Rare Example: A PF70 Ultra Cameo First Day of Issue (FDI) memorial sovereign is highly sought after, with very low numbers available in top grades.
Features: These feature a unique "royal arms" design on the reverse by Jody Clark, departing from the traditional St George and the Dragon.
2022 Memorial 50p (Circulating):
Mintage: Approximately 9,600,000 50p coins were produced by the Royal Mint to enter circulation.
Value: While common, their high demand means they can be worth more than face value to collectors.
Features: The 50p features the King on the obverse and a design commemorating the 1953 Coronation Crown on the reverse.
2022 Rare £1 Coin:
Mintage: 7,735,000.
Rarity: The 2022-dated £1 coin is recognized as a rare circulating coin, as it marks the transition to King Charles III coinage, often holding premium value to collectors.
The majority of commemorative UK coins are relatively common and worth just face value so please if trying to complete a collection do not get ripped off by the over used word "Rare" this only means "££££"added plus postage
Please be very aware that fake coin exist if unsure please walk away or ask someone knowledgable to view before making an decision to purchase
Values quoted are from retail sales and are for reference only
I do not sell coins or buy from private sellers or auction sites
